About The Artwork

In this installation the arrangement of colors seems almost chaotic; resembling Damien Hirst’s dot paintings and Ellsworth Kelly’s color panels. But at the closer look, the viewer will know the existence of order and pattern that emerges from random color placement, forcing the viewers to experience the true value of colors and their relationships. Each hue is thoughtfully laid out; where color itself becomes a subject matter that vibrates and glows creating a harmony within.

I am an installation artist. The colors and the scale are a very important component in my installation. I want the pure color to exist free from reference, enabling the color to communicate directly to the viewer. I create my work to show the continuity of my thought process and to have elements of a system. Even though my work seems minimal and absent of narrative; when the viewer approaches the work, the texture of the surface and the physicality of each piece plays the important component to my work. Between 2000 to 2005, wood became my choice of work surface with incorporated electrical lights (LED, fluorescent and neon), and Plexiglass. The work became three dimensional and sculptural with minimal colors and very clean lines to emphasize the scale of the work. In 2005, I started to use bright colors in my work. The "Vertigo Series" came from this time with pure vibrant colors; subtle tonal changes with blurred images that generate an oscillation that in turn provide a physical sensation. From 2007 on, I started to work on big scale installations. "Inaccessible Space", "Spectrum I" and "Spectrum II" was created after 2007. All my installation are large in scale; to be part of architectural and spatial dimensions. Even though my usage of materials differs vastly throughout my work. All of my installations show the modular nature, that can be rearranged into new combinations or to adapt to any space configurations. I want my work to be part of the space; to exit free from space limitation.
