About The Artwork
Sultov’s Cube sculpture was among the selected original works, with the theme of harmony between environment and architectural space, for the 2010 BenQ International Sculpture Creation Workshop in Hsinchu County, Taiwan. The creative method of the finished large-scale sculptures was outdoor on-site creation and the entire creation process was in public. The spiral pattern on each side of the cube is constructed by nesting layers of square polygons. The pattern is a result of complex sequences that can either be explained through mathematics or observed within natural forms. The cube is mounted on one corner in a specific balanced position so it can unfold its full capacity in three-dimensional space.
