About The Artwork

Love, in it’s pure form is not complicated; until, we layer on tainted belief systems, fears, prejudices, a need to control our surroundings… At that point the purity of love can be twisted into an illusion of love. Pure and joyful love, when entangled with fear and illusion, can become something else. Loving embrace or controlling constriction? Can we tell the difference when we are in the embrace? Entangled is created from repurposed marble and here is it's story... Quarried in Danby Vermont, Entangled was entrapped in a huge rectangular block of architectural stone. It was transported to Dallas where it lived a productive life for several decades as a Dallas building. Then one day a wrecking ball demolished the building and the broken stone found it's way to The Creative Arts Center of Dallas where I teach stone sculpting. There it was released from it's rectangular and broken form to become this beautiful sculpture and thoughtful statement, reminding us to love purely.

Creating art as a kid = Yep College Degree in Fine Art = Yep Become an artist = hmmm, sort of, hmmm, not yet, hmmm Turn 50 years old = Yep, Let's Do Art!!!! Turn 60 years old - Yep, Why stop now? It took 50 years for me to be in a place secure enough to create art. After a small bout of homelessness in my 20's, I focused on an income in the corporate world. Then the corporate world, unceremoniously, spit me out in 2008. I turned my love of dance into my next career. So much joy came from this, I then turned my attention to art. I have been creating and showing sculpture ever since. Each day I dance and create art is filled with joy! Each day I share what I know with others about dance and art is filled with even more joy. My motto... Wake Up, Be Awesome, Be Kind, Bring Joy, Repeat
