About The Artwork
Recent events in the world are kept in suspense all mankind. In this project, I would like to use visual "petrifaction" of dynamic structures. But in this case, we are not only dealing with the "frozen destruction", as with a need to reconsider the moment. A sense of tragicalness accompanies a contemporary man every day. The media image of the explosion is fixed in our consciousness as something that can not be avoided. It also haunts us in the artistic expression - in the news, movies, literature and in our everyday life. Has the humanity preserved the ability to respond to the tragedy? Is a person able to feel with the victims of a catastrophe? We have no opportunity to think about it often, as the shots of the "explosion" run quickly in front of our eyes, like a newsfeed. So when I try to "stop" the moment, we have an opportunity to reconsider the tragedy. In this project, we are talking about how hard it is for a person to understand the rapid whirl of the modern life, to preserve humanity in this whirl. In my attempt to fix the tragic moment, I consciously use the common media images of the explosion - a "mushroom", which adds more aesthetics to the form, but does not lose the internal semantic load.
