About The Artwork
I realized in 2013 after my friend died of cancer that I might not continue my engineering education. I have 7/8 of a mechanical engineering degree which I began because I could not support myself as an artist. After my friend died and I had been saving all my engineering texts I cut these words into my fluid mechanics and materials science texts. I realized that if I ended up with cancer I would regret more not trying to be an art professional. I am grateful for my engineering education because I was able to raise and support two children and I still support myself and my creative life with the engineering work I do 5 days a week.
