Kalinda Sculpture

Kalinda is a mixed media sculpture created by artist William Braemer during the Covid19 Quarantine in 2020. She is created primarily with remnants and cut outs of clothing articles he wears while creating paintings. William is a big fan of recycling whatever he can and incorporating into his art. For years he has been saving his work jeans and tees. He always uses his cloths to wipe off the excess paint from a brush or a palette knife creating layers upon layers of colorful impasto paints on what he is wearing during his creative process. After a while the pants and tees become too hard to wear and they go into his recycle bin. Kalinda is a special work of art as she is the first in a series of this medium. As the world remained in quarantine, William spent countless hours in his work atelier . Kalindas’ face has a slight tilt to one side, she feels the sorrow and worry through this rough time humanity is experiencing . Still she is sexy and sassy colorful and ready for the future. As the artist is always optimistic and positive even through the most difficult of times. Her base made from chicken wire and fiberglass, cement, molding paste and more…. Other elements from the artist’s studio are seen in this brilliant work of art. Paintbrushes and Palette knife, tubes of oil paints and even clothes pins can be seen all perched on a acrylic base.…… Wait…Clothing pins? Yes … I hear the next one in this series will incorporate thousands of clothing pins….. Stay tuned and let’s see what the artist has up his sleeve.
