About The Artwork
This piece was inspired by that feeling that familiar fear of losing your identity, the feeling of unintended conformity. The bust is slowly melting into the stone background and losing its unique and identifiable features. I chose stone for its permanence. this particular stone has a beautiful white coloration in the finished areas but the weathered areas just look like any old stone you would find on the ground, further reinforcing the concept of the piece.
