Message in a Bottle Sculpture

I created this as an exercise to see if I could improve on the next item to appear on the 4th plinth in London's Trafalgar Square. (Who couldn't?) You know, the one with an ice-cream and a fly? Bearing in mind we are confronting several of the most catastrophic threats to life on Earth, ie., Global Warming/ Climate Change, Plastic Pollution in the Oceans, Mass Extinction of dozens of species to name a few, I thought an ice-cream with a fly on it didn't quite cut it as an image to kick start a change in peoples attitude. So this was the result. 'Message in a Bottle' has a huge resonance with the romanticism of the sea so I have used this as a medium to shock people into changing. .
