About The Artwork
This sculpture is part number eleven out of the sphere series MOS314 with diameter 25cm (~10 inch). MOS314 is a pseudonym (spoken mospi) and the meaning is „MOdern Sculpture 314“ (the first three numerics from PI, the circle constant). The inspiration was to create spheres with different kinds of steel like flat steel, round steel, steel pipes, nails or scrap metal. The shape of every component part and the tough and cold look from steel is completely different every time but the community of the spherical shap gives an emotion of security and harmony. All steel parts are bended, welded and finished with owatrol oel to preserve the original rusty steel look. The sphere is „secured“ with a padlock and an individuel stamped aluminium label. The padlock connects positiv thoughts and energy to the sculpture and the key abides by the sculptor forever. The last picture demonstrates the scale from a sphere with 25cm diameter.

My name is Armin Staeblein, a self-taught metal sculptor. In the past I started with wire art, kinetic art like wind sculptures and a rolling ball sculptur. My background is engineer and the results from my technical and artistic obsessions are the metal sculptures. I´m faszinated by round forms like circles and spheres and the inspiration was to create spheres with different kinds of steel.
