About The Artwork
This plaster was the first draft for a commission in a Dutch village. The general idea was to have a beacon in the village park welcoming newcomers. Of course there was some commotion concerning the nude interpretation of the welcome, but that's all past-tense now. (This sculpture can also be delivered in bronze. However: as the manifacturing of 'Mother-to-be' into bronze involves making a mould, a cast in wax, followed by the cast in bronze, the time needed will be at least three months.The price will be signifcantly higher.)
