The Scorpio constellation is one of the few in which the configuration of the stars actually justifies the name of the constellation. The brightest stars in the constellation Scorpio form against the background of the milky Way figure of a huge Scorpion with long and terrible claws. The brightest star of the constellation Scorpio - Antares - has the first magnitude. It attracts attention with a reddish sheen. The brightness and color of this star rivals the planet Mars and that is why it got its name (from Ares-Mars). Antares is a red supergiant. If the Sun could be placed in the center of the star, then, in addition to it, there would be more orbits of planets, including Mars. In the starry sky Scorpio appears in spring and summer. As soon as the constellation Scorpio rises in the East, the beautiful constellation of Orion disappears from view in the West. Scorpio pursues him, and in the may night sky there is no place for Orion – among the stars there is a terrible Scorpio. In Ancient Egypt, the sign of Scorpio had supernatural powers both in legends and in religious iconography. Scorpio is found among the secret hieroglyphs, it can be seen on the scepter of Pharaoh in the image of ISIS. He also takes the image of the goddess – healer and patroness of the dead Selket. Jala or casting a spell over, the Scorpion at the same time symbolizes the force of life and death.
