For twenty yeas I have been creating portraits of people, starting with drawings and paintings in the College of Art and mastering sculpturing and art photography at the Academy of Fine Arts, where we had to draw first what we wanted to photograph… My passion is to capture the soul and character in an artistic way of the sculptured person as well as the characteristic traits that are passed through multiple generations. I love sculpturing families and find out which traits they pass to their successive generations. An inherited trait carried through genes is difficult to picture in other media such as painting or photography. I find it exciting to change between styles and periods in order to reflect the souls and aspirations of my clients. The materials nowadays are adding another dimension to my sculpture portraiture exploration. My real love for portrait sculpture started when I found the portrait bust of my great grand mother! I never knew one existed, and when I happily showed this to my mother she said – yes, she never liked this portrait. Well, I don’t care! It is the only artistic portrait I have of her, imperishable and beautiful in my eyes. I can see the genetic traits that she has passed on to me and this is why she feels so close to me. I even talk to her sometimes, ask her for advice, and tell her my little secrets. She has her special place in my home. London living man's portrait bust which I called - The Blue Man. My series of London Portrait Busts are inspired by Pre-Raphaelites characters and souls which I often recognise in people in London.

Monika Jenowein works in Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, Poland. During the summer time lives and works in London. In 1998 she has gained the First Prize for the Hero Sculpture and was invited to join the Polish Constructionist National Society. In 1999 she has got Scholarship of the Ministry of Culture and Art. Since than for almost twenty years she has been creating portraits of people, in many mediums such from painting, photography to sculpturing. She admits, that sculpturing portraits is more special and noble for her comparing to other media. Her passion is to capture the personal nature in an artistic way as well as the characteristic traits and experience that are passed through multiple generations. She is exploring to 'think with her hands' in order to what to give away in the very first impression to the future observer and which characteristics slowly unveil, once is looked all over sides, angles and different lighting. She finds exciting to change between styles and periods in order to reflect the souls and aspirations of her clients. The materials nowadays are adding another vast spectrum to her sculpture portraiture exploration. Monika loves sculpturing members of families and find out which traits they pass to their successive generations. She find also extremely interesting about sculpting famous people, capture what goes under their skin, whether is this special talent or destination, that made their facial and body expressions. She is also saying she has discovered over her work experience, that once the portrait bust of ordinary person is done, he/she fills obliged to make something special in their life for others, to be remembered and recognized and it is usually happening... Monika Patyczek collaborates and have collaborated with numerous English Institutions. Her latest sculpture series of “Londoners” were inspired by people from London. Their Portraits are a mixture of Ancient, Pre-Raphaelites and Contemporary characters, which she recognizes in her friends and clients and presented in London Farringdon earlier this year. All her portraits are sculpted in fine English clay, which she adores to work with. Fired in the kiln, so the originals are conserved and personally hand cast in different materials such as bronze, plaster or concrete.
