About The Artwork
Jakub Żeligowski Jewelry designer and small sculptural forms for over 25 years. Despite numerous successes, such as the Award of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in the Legnica Silver Gallery, his life passion is painting, sculpture and photography. He has totally spared his life to this for almost eight years already Exhibitions: Jewelry Designer from 1993 Recognized for art by MKDN in 1995 A painter, sculptor and designer. Member of ZPAP Decorative Art. Exhibitions: 1995Award of President of the Association of Formers of Goldsmiths' Creations 2000 Award of the Ministry of Culture. A painting for me is not only a picture, it’s philosophy behind it, poetry however brief and simple . It is a way of telling a story about life and it’s energetic message. I’m looking for a simplicity in life, so you can find simplicity in my pictures too. I try to limit my work to a few gestures and avoid an exaggeration, however an interfusion of colour gives some softness and gentleness to a hard lines on a picture. That, in my opinion, is what differences a simplicity from rusticity. Very important moment in the whole process of creation is the ending. Every picture I finish in the state of silence and inner calm. I never consider my work finished until I have a quietness in my mind. In such moments I feel like I could stop the world for a while, a pure strong energy runs thru me. When I get a feedback about people recognizing this in my works , I feel a huge joy. These are the moments when I know that I want to paint not only for myself but mostly for the others.
