Plantpot/This is how I feel inside Sculpture

This is a piece I have been working on for literally years! I keep putting it down, then picking it back up again, and I'm not sure it's finished yet... It is basically made from a clear plastic pot which was a paint pot. I painted and collaged the exterior surface of the pot, then covered it in lots of layers of papier mache, so the painting and collage is unreachable: on the one hand it is beneath the plastic surface, and on the other it is beneath/protected by the layers of papier mache. The outside of the pot is painted in white undercoat: a smooth, matt, white surface. The inspiration for this piece was a need to express the conflicting urges to express myself and unleash the riot of colours and shapes that I want to paint, whilst also feeling that I need to be invisible. This sculpture combines the conflict in one piece.
