VIEW IN MY ROOM
Qi Pao an exclusive style of clothes in China, which originated from the Manchu Dynasty (1616 - 1912) period and was thriving in the 20th Century. It's not only one of the symbols of China, but it also shows the figure of a beautiful body so as to express a special air that is graceful, elegant and dignified. This group work is mainly from the feminine angle of view which is to looking at the world in a way that it is harmonious, serene and mild rather than chaotic and anxious. The group has 8 pieces each one representing one colour, which symbolises a rich and colourful life. The background patterns took elements of the natural world such as the form of various kinds of flowers, which are made by a traditional Chinese handicraft called "paper cuts". For every natural kind of life always gives people a feeling of ease and only in a natural state could people gain inspiration. Purple: The grape turns from green to red year after year, much as life is filled with ups and downs and twists and turns. Maybe all this is inherent in having life at all.

Zora&Holly Fine Art Born in the Northwest of China and now living in Zhuhai, China, Mei Xiaohua (Holly) and Zora are both experienced at integrating and developing a variety of traditional Chinese-handicrafts. They commit themselves to promoting the traditional Chinese-handicrafts as Fine Arts. After years of exploration and practise, they have opened up a new world of soft-sculpture, forming their own unique style. Their art conveys a special atmosphere of Chinese authentics, which are elegant, free, natural and vivid - it gives people food for thought. ----------------------------- It is hard to explain the secret behind our work. When my mother and I first worked together to create these art works we could never have imagined the results. Our only wish is to share them with those among you who love art. Also, we feel our work has a sense of fulfilling a special destiny. A daughter who was once taught so many things by her mother now finds herself becoming the teacher. "The life" represents familial affection, with mother and daughter knitted together in perfect intimacy. Their life experience has shaped each other's stories. "Losing" brought a new meaning to our relationship. Now cherishing each other and what we have is at the foundation of our relationship. This life of ours spans several decades but is ultimately limited. Sometimes it seems so long and at other times it appears so very short. However, within this finite life, we strive to create a small world which can retain an eternal serenity. Zora&Holly Fine Art hope these small sculptures can bring all of you a brief moment of serenity. Zora
