About The Artwork
This is a raygun sculpture I made from copper, aluminum, brass and electrical components. The individual pieces are bonded together. The copper pipe has a surface treatment that matches the copper in the tubes and the brass is polished. The antennas on the top are removable for easier storage and shipping. My name and date finished are engraved on the bottom of the back grip. Various science fiction movies and shows such as Star Wars, Star Trek and Lost In Space were on my mind when I worked on it. Rayguns can also be found in books and other science fiction publications. The raygun in the War of the Worlds was a "heat raygun.

I try to create what the eye could never see in real life, but that which could still be real in some ways. There’s a saying that fits me pretty good. It goes like this. Most people, when asked, would say their destination is back home. My destination is forward.
