A simple line suggests the profile of a two-dimensional, unfinished book, inviting the viewer to interpret and 'complete' the work. It is a wink to the subconscious. The piece does not end with mere observation; on the contrary, it grows through it. (*) The rust patinas vary on every artwork, which ...

Contact us.David Sagnier is a sculptor who seeks to reveal what lies hidden behind the surface of matter, precisely to evoke emotion. His work is an invitation to look beyond what the eyes see, finding beauty in the soul of iron and the trace of time.
Born in Barcelona in 1963, Sagnier transitioned from the rigor of the corporate world to the purity of his true calling. As a self-taught artist working between Paris and Barcelona, his creative freedom allows him to approach steel with raw, unadorned honesty.
His gaze was shaped by the light of Cadaqués, between the sea and the mineral rock. From this union with nature, his sculpture is born as an act of humility: he initiates the form, but allows the air, water, and time to complete it. It is a living dialogue where oxidation reveals textures that shift with the passage of time.
Sagnier understands his work as a "single stroke"—a pure line that seeks to structure the void and translate the complexity of the world into essential forms. Whether on Corten steel or paper, he strives for a profound clarity; for him, sculpture is a silent bridge where the form suggests more than it shows.
He exhibits in Paris, Madrid, and Barcelona with a single purpose: to revitalize the space that surrounds us. He invites the viewer into an intimate contemplation, where the complexity of the simple can, at last, calmly reveal itself.
