Saint George Impression Sculpture

This small sculpture is part of the creation of a life size ceramic sculpture which I made at the EKWC (European Ceramic Work Centre in The Netherlands. The sculpture is based on the figure Saint George and the Dragon, in where I focused on the battle between good and evil and the Biblical concept of sexual sin. Before I started to work on the large scale ceramic, I made several smaller works to develop the shape I wanted. These small sculptures are all individual artworks and in this particular sculpture I wanted to capture my physicality, sensuality (a kind of subtle sexual energy) and a balance between abstraction and figurative elements. Playful abstraction and subtle emerging figures such as the dragon and Saint George.
