Soul of Yggdrasil Sculpture

Inspired by the Norse cosmology and the mythical tree Yggdrasil. Whist i studied my Fine Art Degree, researching what we have done to this earth and how we are destroying the beauty which was once considered Holy. The Sculpture with its poisonous fiberglass pollution and its fake hair, encases natures beauty such as the tree bark, leaves, and moss. The helpless gaze from the eyes, encased and paralyzed. And although the mythical Yggdrasil tree was Ash, it rests on a 200 year old olive branch, to signify the peace and purity which will hopefully be restored one day. Soul of Yggdrasil is a symbol of how we continue to rape Mother Nature. With the Nasty toxins polluting our world. And destroying our Life on it. Mixed media Hand made.
