This is a 1/50th scale of the Space Shuttle Discovery that I completed in 2012 from eastern red cedar to celebrate the program and the people.

This is a very accurate piece. I used only dimensions from NASA data and carefully studied and scaled dozens of photos of Discovery in orbit.

The surfaces are hand polished using a finishing wax. It does not have a clear coat of any kind, just the wax. There are two pedestals, one of cedar and one of brass and cedar.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I try to create what the eye could never see in real life, but that which could still be real in some ways. To stimulate the viewer’s imagination and pull things forward in the mind, I am a viewer, also. I seek balance. I use color and form to get there. Art is my aeroplane and color lifts my wings. Being an artist is not my primary occupation, but I’ve been producing art since I was a child. I seem to be driven to create - not just art but about everything in my life. There’s a saying that fits me pretty good. It goes like this. Most people, when asked, would say their destination is back home. My destination is forward.
