About The Artwork

This is a set of three family members. Tron Conger is the father and a scientist. They travel the galaxy together as he studies the effects of the modification of gravity on a local scale. Annabelle is Trons wife and Soarys mom. Some people puzzle over her unusual "looks", but that’s just because she’s happy all the time. Of course Soary is the daughter. She's a bit precocious, but also shy and kind like her parents. I started each of them with a brass frame and attached aluminum screen and then applied cement until they were them. The cement is seal coated. Their eyes, teeth and hair are silver. I drilled many tiny holes in the cement and inserted each strand of "hair" into these holes. The teeth are embedded in the gums just like mine. They are securely fastened to their wooden bases. I can’t allow the family to be split up so you have to take them all or none.

I try to create what the eye could never see in real life, but that which could still be real in some ways. To stimulate the viewer’s imagination and pull things forward in the mind, I am a viewer, also. I seek balance. I use color and form to get there. Art is my aeroplane and color lifts my wings. Being an artist is not my primary occupation, but I’ve been producing art since I was a child. I seem to be driven to create - not just art but about everything in my life. There’s a saying that fits me pretty good. It goes like this. Most people, when asked, would say their destination is back home. My destination is forward.
