Cette œuvre traite d’une facette de l’amour très peu représentée que ce soit dans les arts visuels ou encore en musique ou poésie. L’amour -qu’il soit entre amants, à l’intérieur d’une famille ou encore entre amis- peut se transformer en fardeau pour les personnes qu’il lie. Aimer et soutenir une personne malgré ses échecs ou la maladie est perçue comme l’amour ultime, mais que se passe-t-il lorsque cet amour se transforme en devoir ou en impasse ? Lorsque l’un ou l’autre dans la relation ne se voit plus satisfait mais doit rester à cause de la pression et de la peur de se faire rejeter par son geste ? Et comment se sortir de ce piège émotionnel et psychique, que ce soit pour sauver la relation ou pour se sauver soi-même ? Loin des images d’amour placardées dans les films, les romans, ou les musiques j’explore une nouvelle nuance du sentiment. Constituée de deux figures identiques enchainées l’une à l’autre par un cœur-boulet. Les figures ne présentent aucun signe distinctif quant à leur sexe, genre, nationalité, âge, ou tout autre détail pouvant pousser le regardeur à catégoriser les personnes mise en scène ici. Les seules différences entre les figures sont les marbrures naturelles du marbre, qui suggèrent que chaque être est unique tout en étant semblable à son prochain.

I am searching the spectrum of the personal and the emotional, and how our contemporary consumerist society affects the way we live, feel and develop the notion of the selves. I am interested in how human continue to be true to their core in this environment despite the daily violence it obliges us to face and to commit to other. My works can be understood as elaborations of emotional reactions to societal issues. I often use myths as my primary support: I question and I twist them in order to extract the intrinsic meaning they are caring within themselves into the contemporary society. I try to express the myths in innovative ways in order to open up a new discussion about a topic. As a woman, my work is reflective of the distinctive challenges that I face in my private life, and I believe it shines a light and a commentary on societal issues that are inherent of our time. I decided to pursue my inquiry into identity through the specific lens of Trauma, whether it being physical, emotional or psychological. I am exploring how it affects one or more persons, and which strategies of survival can be found.
