"The X Project" Sculpture

The project visually represents the letter X from the basic Latin Alphabet, but symbolically expresses the explicit, the extravagant and the exclusive. We, the artists, are exactly all of the above mentioned. We are the ones who create objects and stories unlike others, unique and particular. My project is consisted of two shapes that are in diametral contrast. On one side is the oval round shape and on the other side is the super flat surface. The outer part of the sculpture that I propose makes the symbol of nature. The round shape of this three-dimensional object represents the shape of an atom, that is the smallest unit of ordinary matter that forms a chemical element. The inner part of this object, through flat surfaces and straight angles represent the man made, the practical. The perforation that passes inside the piece, is my current point of view that has the X shape, the explicit. The curious thing about this sculpture is the perforation in the middle (The X shape) that does not cover the background of the sculpture, artistically said it lets the sculpture and surrounding to breathe.
