About The Artwork

The buildings of Trump are iconic to his character therefore a perfect way to resemble him. Just like previous projects about leaders and dictators (Graffiti Revolution-The Arab Spring in street art) this is also a way of idolizing the narcissistic nature of our world leaders. Hopefully to start and keep the dialogue alive: Why are people becoming more nationalistic/patriotic and is populism growing larger each day and where is this al leading to... The tulip in front of the building represents the transience of this era. It refers to the 17th century Dutch painters that often used symbolism like this in their paintings. The tulip is covered in 24K gold to represent the irony of the 'lower' class people choosing a millionaire for president with a golden interieur. The Big Tramp Tower This was a 2 mt high act of street art to get the interaction on the street going during the exhibition in the Go Gallery, Amsterdam (Jan-March 2017). The public was able to spray/paint/draw their opinion on the wooden tower.

The metal and graffiti artist Ronald Duikersloot (1979) is a unique example of a versatile contemporary artist with a socio-critical worldview. After finishing Graphic Art School, Amsterdam in 2000, he got his inspiration from extended travels around the world. Graffiti art and the AfrikaBurn festival gave it it’s form. He performs on festivals and events as De WildLasser with flamethrowers in Mad Max kind of settings but he’s best known for his global graffiti (by the name of Spray Art). The works of Duikersloot are pretty diverse and therefore never boring, but always come with some food for thought. Often found is a message of propaganda, prejudice misunderstandings or the cradle-to-cradle concept. In short: Be sure to look for some irony in his work! His motto is: Rule # 1: "There are no rules!"
