Trout of water Sculpture

This piece was created as a 'flagship' sculpture for an exhibtion at the Haweswater Hotel in the Lake District, Cumbria. I wanted to create a sculpture which fit perfectly into the stunning backdrop the hotel's location provides. The sculpture depicts a lake trout breaching the surface of the water to catch its prey, an event that can be seen in the lake behind given enough patience! The sculpture is made from 10mm steel plate which was cut into long tapered sections to create a 'brush stroke' which I have then bent and forged into shape. The piece was galvanised and then chemically aged to finish.
