About The Artwork
There has been a correlation between music and art genres. The one that has most influenced me is Jazz music and abstract expressionism. As jazz has progressed through improvisation and experimental styling I have seen a rebirth in abstraction. My work examines the sound of this new genre extension of jazz into sculptures and paintings that reflect these new sounds through the use of the tropes of abstract expressionism.
