frammento numero 25; polistirolo. cm. 64 x 50 x 36. 2017 Il lavoro fa parte del ciclo “ Babelico” composto da 20 opere. Segni dal tempo giunti fino a noi stratificati nei secoli a testimonianza del bisogno essenziale nell’uomo di comunicare con altri uomini, non soltanto verbalmente ma attraverso forme più sofisticate e durature, per far si che il pensiero, una volta espresso, trovi nella scrittura la forma per perpetuare se stessi. Lettere di alfabeti appartenenti per lo più a civiltà scomparse le cui tracce, ancora vive e presenti, mescolate fra loro, inseguono l’utopia di un improbabile linguaggio universale. Segni calligrafici dipinti su tavolette di pergamena, intingendo il pennello in recipienti di colore acrilico, e quali gemme preziose, “ incastonati” in strutture di polistirolo il cui candore materico è qui chiamato ad esaltare e contaminare la grazia formale delle antiche grafie.

Marilede Pedretti was born in Udine. She lives and work in Milan. She spent youth time living and studying in Rome, Paris, Naples and Florence, making languages, literature and music studies. She has worked as a translator from french for a while, collaborating with some national publishing company. And this is how, possibly, arises in her the interest towards the word, extract from its usual contest, on a game of exchange between the word and the image, where "the sign" overwhelmes "the sense". She becomes part of the Visual Poetry group, art style came out of the 20th century avant-garde movements; she gets the chance to meet prominent figures in the movement such as Ugo Carrega, Emilio Isgrò, Mirella Bentivoglio.
