About The Artwork

In a country replete with manipulation of the truth and the surgence of false news in the media and social networks. The only thing for which I am certain is human culture, translated into daily behaviors. While a simple concept, for me, it is no less important. Some of these details include: the working uniform including a name tag and a smiling face; the American flag with its stars and stripes which can be seen everywhere from cementaries to above the checkout stands at restaurants and convenience stores. As a foreigner in a country replete with manipulation of the truth and false news in the media and social networks, the only thing for which I am certain is human culture, translated into daily behaviors. This particular piece is inspired by the need for, Americans to have a drink cup in everything from lawn chairs to automobiles to coolers, toys and bicycles.

Javier Gamboa was born in Coronel Bogado on July 30, 1971. He Studied painting in the Gallery Rosarte and began studying Fine Arts at the National University of Rosario in 1997. His experience at that time includes painting murals in churches, schools and other commercial premises in his hometown and within the city of Rosario. He traveled extensively through Latin America and in 1998 settled in Costa Rica, where he worked on such varied projects as murals, children's books illustration and poster design for environmental education initiatives at ZooAve Zoological Park, Alajuela. In addition to these activities, between the years of 2008 and 2010, he taught the basics of mural painting in Cordoba Prison through the non-profit organization, CIC Bata. He also worked on more personal projects, creating street art like Comic el juego, a large-format serial comic plastered on various public walls within Cordoba. And, Angel, Botame and the River Bather, which were sculptures and installations also placed in public spaces. Since 2012, Javier works and lives in Brunswick, Ga within the USA.
