About The Artwork
Part of a series of 22 Collages, created for exhibition at Spectrum Miami. This piece as well as the 21 others, speak to the myriad of visual intrusions into our daily lives. Panels feature memorabilia from my travels around the world and decades-long work as an experiential designer and producer. These panels are layered with original art, acrylic embellishments and objects from my studio—arranged according to their own unique textual and imaginative qualities to reflect modern trends and social commentaries. A smile, a wink, a touching human moment, a broken heart, censored private moments and wagging tongues. Art. What have we gotten ourselves into?

Ralph Miller is a contemporary experiential artist with Latin American roots. He began painting as a young boy. Growing up in Managua, Santo Domingo and Miami, Ralph embraced a Caribbean color scheme of bright blues, yellows, greens and reds. He has been living and working in San Francisco for several decades. Adopting a wide range of media and styles—from striking paintings to large immersive installations—his art brings together a great variety of worlds, materials, textures and colors, often juxtaposed to nature—sometimes using elements from nature—as stencils and embellishments, coalescing contemporary icons into unique tapestries of modern life.
