About The Artwork
This is an original textile embroidery artwork of a Goldfinch Embroidered by hand on a beautiful piece of fabric, with additional beads and sequins which are all embroidered by hand individually. Embroidery measures approx 110x175mm. Framed size is 240x295mm. Picture comes framed with a double mount using conservation standard (acid free) material, including a piece of conservation barrier board behind the picture. The frame itself is a good quality narrow, grained oak effect moulding. It is 15mm wide. It comes complete with glass, back and hanging. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

I am inspired by bright colours and patterns in nature. when I was younger I was a Sunday girl in a local garden centre, and my parents had greenhouses, so I was always surrounded with lots of inspiration from plants, which are a reccuring theme in my work. I like to think I have an unusual technique. I generally work in acrylic on canvas, and I then bead and stitch on top, often using hundreds and thousands of tiny seed beads to embellish my artwork. It is not unusual for each piece to take over 200 hours. More recently I have also started experimenting with stitching on paper. I own and curate a gallery based In Guernsey, in the Channel Islands, allowing me to concentrate on my art career full time.
