About The Artwork

The work was done by hand, with compass and square. Maps belonged to an atlas of 1964, and the bar codes belong to the luggage of air travel. This paper describes features of two cultures (American and Islamic). American in the barcode, its inventor who was born in U.S.A. and octagonal patterns of ancient Islamic designs. wanting to jeopardize relations between mathematics and its symbolism, whose inventors were the Arabs, and served as such by the inventors BARCODE (Joseph Woodland, Jordin Johanson and Bernard Silver).

BIO: Born in 1973, lives and works in Buenos Aires. Graduated from the National School of Fine Arts "Prilidiano Pueyrredón", in 2003. In 2001, he participated in the art commission of the collective Argentina Arde. Later, with other members, paticipates of the group Arde! Collective action art, making numerous interventions, performances and exhibitions until 2009. Exhibiting in the exhibition Artistas Plásticos por Kosteki y Santillán at the Palais de Glace in 2005. In 2011, a retrospective of the group (already dissolved) is presented, in the Cultural Center for Cooperation "Floreal Gorini". Arde! Art of collective action, 10 years from December 19 and 20. Participates individually in the "PORTUÑOL" exhibition, at the Center for Brazilian Studies, 2005. Curated by Karina Granieri and Ivana Vollaro. In 2008, he participated in the collective exhibition at “Espacio Ave Fénix”, Santa Fé galleries, invited by David Acevedo. During the next few years he interrupted his artistic work, working on stage production, action props and on various audiovisual projects. In 2013 he resumed his artistic activity, deepening a personal image, renewed by experiences related to work trips to the Middle East (hence the approach to geometry), combined with the collage of maps worked as an artist's book, during the first years of training in Pueyrredón. 2018 .
