Women are the largest group of people killed throughout history. When thinking of genocide, we seldom think of femicide; the killing of women; however, even today, women are executed in the practice of honor killings and the accusation of witchcraft, and adultery. The witchcraft hunt that lasted 400 years in Europe created an estimate of 12 million deaths, and even today in rural Africa, Asia, and the Pacific Islands, where beliefs in myths and spells remain, older women or widows are targeted and killed. This mixed media collage is a symbolic representation of what being a woman meant throughout history: we were cattle for slaughter.

Born in Bassano Del Grappa, a northern Italian town. I felt constricted by its lack of opportunities and provincial thoughts. Viewing New York through the lens of an immigrant during a time of social unrest has tasked me with the responsibility to create socio-political statements through the use of mix media. My art is their voice. Being an artist gives me the freedom to experiment and explore the world of my imagination.
