The female figure, predominantly in blue and white tones, induces a kind of coldness/coolness. She reclines over a mythical animal, constructed by fragments of male bodies and fetish props. The woman is covered in jewels and all kinds of ornaments. These two figures can be associated with past myths, but they can also belong to an imaginary panorama from our present. On the upper part of the work, there is an array of blood transfusion bags. This blood feeds the two bodies. A tension reveals itself in these being’s relationship; but there is also tenderness between them. They are dependent on each other’s interaction; They need one another in order to survive within a contemporary framework. The freezing female figure, with a distant gaze, is represented as the analytical, rational mind, learning from early on to move within varied social instances. The animal is the primordial instinct. In this symbiosis, they can change postures. If needed be, one can become the other. They are one. There is the inclusion of a mechanical eye. It observes the whole scene from the distance, as the progressive lack of privacy and individuality transforms humanity. This induces ways of responding by those who feel their “life” is being threatened; the association between reason and instinct becomes a means of surviving, the future of education. A book is no longer enough.
