About The Artwork
For this work, I was inspired by drawings by Cy Twombly. I really love his drawings and sketches and how he plays with lines and texture. This is a spontaneous drawing using digital paints and pencils. I really enjoy creating these abstract drawings using colour and line. I find them very therapeutic and relaxing. I imagine them printed and displayed on a wall so that the customer can view them and see the enjoyment and relaxation that I benefited from and hopefully this can transfer towards them. I enjoy thinking about the sky, water and land when I create these but they are also emotional pieces that are very intuitive according to how I feel at the time. I suppose this could be seen as abstract expressionism as I am reacting to the 'canvas' in a very expressive way without thinking too much about what will happen although there is an element of control in the colour and overall composition. This drawing is inspired by sunsets and beaches.
