About The Artwork

This is the eighth one of my 'Birdy Trees' series, a collection of artworks that combining watercolour and ink wants to depict the contrast between the dark trees and the colourful birds brightenning up the composition, as it happens so often in nature itself. I use Arches paper 300 gsm,100% cotton – Made on a cylinder mould – Sized to the core with natural gelatin. This diptych (two artworks with the same size, 28 cm width each) was inspired by Emily Dickinson's poem 'Indian summer', which says, These are the days when Birds come back A very few—a Bird or two To take a backward look These are the days when skies resume The old—old sophistries of June A blue and gold mistake

She is an emerging artist inspired by color and nature, creating works where even the smallest things have their place. She employs classic techniques as watercolor to achieve the immediacy and spontaneity of the medium and oil to create subtle color harmonies, relatively static compositions and simple forms, to make up imaginary, dreamlike landscapes, sometimes as taken from children's books. Following Walter Benjamin’s thoughts, she always tries to give the ‘aura’ to her works, that is, investing an object with human qualities and emotions, where the painting value will come largely from its exclusivity. Her paintings and illustrations hang in private collections around the world.
