My life and the art I am able to make has drastically changed since January 2021. I was diagnosed with rare advanced appendiceal cancer. I have had 2 major surgeries, more than 35 rounds of chemo, and will undergo another major surgery in the near future. My priorities have changed; my daughter is my life, so we have been spending time together creating digital works cooperatively. My work primarily embodies space and movement. Although my paintings are abstract, the palette and textures are based upon my visual experiences. I find beauty in what others may find mundane, such as cracks in a concrete sidewalk or rusted farm equipment. Overlooked objects allure me with their hidden beauty which inspires me to share in my works.
