About The Artwork
Inspired by the ceiling paintings of Tintoretto, this series of two works was triggered by a very bad fall from a horse and the sadness that followed when I decided to quit. I imagined that my severed limb would not stop me from loving the amazing athlete that had thrown me down and that in an idealized world we would fly free and happy. I worked with watercolor and ink on the worn out surface of the cover of a law book from the law school days, that symbolizes the many layers of experience in our lives. I will provide a certificate of authenticity of the work. The work is framed in a 8½ x11¾” white shadow box.

I am an Italian artist born and raised in Torino, Italy, where I currently live. Lawyer by trade, I picked up painting later in life with the joy of a child and the commitment of a grown up. I had the great fortune of living in the UK, Brazil and USA. My works are small and mainly on paper, new or found, clean or dirty, on individual sheets or in sketchbooks. Unable to focus on a single medium, my practice employs drawing, watercolor, collage, printmaking and threads sewn directly on the paper. My figurative art resonates with the cultures that I was exposed to and with my passion for horses. I have worked with artists Sandra Bianchi (Brazil) and Tetsuro Shimizu (Italy).
