The everyday experience of nature and daily life often spark inspiration for Haelyn, but movement and/or the memory of movements are strong influences for her art. Haelyn Y strives to capture the moment of a subject moving via layering. She’s not just trying to capture the static moment like a camera snapping a photo- she works to encapsulate the dynamic feeling of the scene still in progressive motion. She loves to work with charcoal with its fluid feel and speed of strokes. She also works in oil, but drawing is her first art crush.
