About The Artwork
Drawings on paper Signed on the front. Last August (2018) I have started a project called 'Pandora's Box' consisting of more than thirty panels, 76 x 56 cm, coloured drawings and watercolours on 640 grams paper. Idea behind this series was that individual panels could be rearranged in different order and grouped into many new polyptych paintings. My vision of Pandora's Box, when it was opened, was a 'Mess of human flesh being released into the world, fighting for the space, position, supremacy...' This drawing is part of the same series. Diptych on Arches paper. Graphite, wash and some charcoal on Arches 640 grams cold pressed paper, 2 x 56 x 76 cm cm Painting has been additionally sealed with Krylon Gallery Series UV Archival satin varnish and does not reqiuire under glass framing. Arches is French acid free 100% cotton paper with deckled edges.

Born in Croatia in 1958, Tony Belobrajdic is a Sydney based figurative artist. He started exhibiting in the late seventies and had his first solo show in 1983 in Croatia. Tony moved to New York in 1987 where he continued his art practice. He exhibits both in Sydney and Europe regularly. Acrylics, watercolours and oils have been the mediums of choice. Etchings is the latest medium being explored and studied with a great passion. His style could be described as contemporary impressionism, mostly portraits and figures. Tony's artwork demonstrates distinct freedom using spontaneous brushstrokes and vivid colours. He combines layered figuration of human forms put in abstract situations.
