About The Artwork

Useful information: - Hanging hardware is included - Best quality materials have been used - Illustration has been framed in silvertone passepartout and a frame with silver and bronze undertones. - Before framing artwork was sprayed with UV protecting spray and then placed under the glass between passepartout and the frame. What inspired this work? Yves Saint Laurent is one of the most iconic and interesting figures in the fashion world and I love all of his creations and the modern pieces created by the fashion house. Also, I'm fascinated with the moon and the stars and I really like crystals and how the sunrays play inside and they always look different depending on the time of the day and the lighting. What do you hope its viewers will feel / think? I hope that you will appreciate this artwork for how real it looks and that you will feel the magic of the crescent moon. I poured a lot of effort, love and magic onto this artwork and hope you will enjoy it. Why did you choose the medium, subject matter, style? I love drawing with colored pencils. This is the medium I feel most confident with. I also added the touches of acrylic paint to emphasize the highlights even more. I decided to draw this brooch for the love of crescent moon and the crystals. In the recent years I've been leaning more and more towards realism and photorealism. I like the wow factor when the people who see the artwork for the first time can't believe that it's not a photograph. It takes a lot of hours to achieve this kind of precision, but it's worth it.
