Spiritual Awakening is a shattering process. All epiphanies tear our world apart. Be it St Paul encountering the pillar of flame, Einstein struck by Quantum possibilities... Or my encounter with The Heart of Creation. The Head of Prophecy captures exactly such a moment. We see a head in quiet meditation. It is surrounded by a nest of wood vines and rope. On it a {rusting wire frame} bird seeks to hatch the egg. Below forming the base is an intensely covered swirl of squiggly, energized lines on wood board. A moment about the materials: The head is covered with metal paste, painted over with white acrylic paint.The bird is made of iron binding wire, brushed here and there with white acrylic paint. The rope is rough jute rope. The wood vine is dried with flaking bark. The base board, 6 mm thick medium density fiber board is covered with epoxy glue and acrylic paint. Many millions meditate seeking the divine, they do not realize that how magnificent and dangerous what they are asking for really is. Awakening, meditation, truth seeking, is not about reaching peace, or joy, or clarity, but of being shattered by the truth, devoured by life, consumed by joy. Everyone who listens to a calling, be it spiritualist or scientist, activist or artist, mother or lover, will be enriched by this image, the ideas behind the image deeply.
