It still has fish scales on it. Before I could use it, I traced each being butchered on the block. Felt their pain and helplessness then released it. The terror of being caught in a net. Speared. Fins sheared off when still alive. On that block of wood touched by soft cries is a wire figure touched by my mind and the triumph of all those who have been empowered by us. It is a tribute to all who have faced Life's chopping block and grown wings.
