The figurative artwork seen here was created for my series of short award-winning films that explore the potential movement inherent in my figure drawings. Inspired by the filmic works of Norman McLaren and Eadweard Muybridge, the film trilogy, "movements of THE BODY," shows movements of the mind through movements of the body's parts. To create this image I started by drawing on one side of a clear acetate animation cel with a grease based litho pencil. I then painted onto the reverse side of the cel. When the paint is dry I place the animation cel over colored paper and film it. To make this film possible thousands of drawings like this were created over a period extending years. You may view an excerpt from this film here: This picture is only available at Saatchi Art as a series of high quality, high resolution art print.
