About The Artwork
I was inspired by a black female jewelry designer. All of her items were so delicate and beautiful. The softness of the pearl and reflections of the facets on the emerald cut made me feel so elegant! It brought me back to times of playing in my mother's jewelry box and seeing my grandmother's vintage earrings. Pure nostalgia. I chose to create a wash in the background using watercolor's that complimented the rose petals and the earrings. Layered and based everything in watercolor while refining the beautiful details with colored pencil.

She serves as chair to the artist advisory board for BlkArthouse, she is a member of the Women's Caucus for Art Texas Chapter, an Adobe brand ambassador, and exhibits her work in galleries locally and internationally. Heather is deeply connected with her art and firmly believes her inspiration transfers to those who view it.
