About The Artwork
"Distilled Earth" is showing my love for planet Earth. The essence of the painting is purely Minimialist and geared towards the elements of our world. In a sense, my message with “Distilled Earth” is that our planet needs purification and to be “distilled” to bring it back to a healthier state. In this painting, the natural colors, and bits of speckled metallic emulate the elements of Earth. Another outstanding feature of this painting is that it has physical light movement. Meaning that the actual colors of the painting change slightly in different lighting. This is due to the metallic used to create this extraordinary piece. This painting is mixed medium. I used paper, plaster, acrylic, metallics, spray paint, inks, and rubber. The painting is signed on the back. The work is coated twice with UV Archival Varnish The artwork is on a 1.5" canvas and ready to hang.

I am an abstract painter expressing my work by exploring the relationship between nature and our environment. Using dialogue between the two can be my best source of inspiration. The tactility of multiple textures and building of layers, are the backbones of my pieces. The severity of the elements can age and weather and create the most interesting designs. The distressed look of patina on metal and dilapidating walls intrigues me by their abstract surfaces and patterns. These textures and layers give depth and dimension to my paintings and are common elements in all my series. I currently live and work in the Berkshires on Western Massachusetts.
