About The Artwork

I offer you a series of new works made in an experimental and playful style. These works were made in the mosaic technique, but within these works I have interwoven fragments of my own graphics, which have been glued onto some of the glass pieces. All of these elements mesh together to create a new and eclectic approach. Since my works encompass a number of different techniques I have struggled to place them into one specific category. The composition itself looks like a collage, but includes drawings with pencil and pen– which belongs in the category of graphics. There are also elements of abstraction and color, and that should place them in a painting category. However, everything has been bound together using grout as if it's a mosaic. After much pondering, I’ve decided that it’s best not to overthink matters and to include these creations in different categories rather than trying to neatly fit them into one. So viola! These creations are mosaic -like, with elements of a painting and with graphic undertones. Hope that you enjoy!

As an artist, I am astonished by the beauty of the world and I believe that this visible beauty is a reflection of invisible beauty. Most of my abstract works are inspired by nature and by the materials which I use to create them. I love using various techniques and often mix and match them while creating my artworks. Paints, pencil, and ink marker mix together freely and compliment each other in my art works.
