Routines were disrupted and reinvented over the past year. During the pandemic, I created daily studies based on gratitude from the previous day. To experience the long-term results of this practice (and not just a moment in time), the individual pieces are then layered, stacked, and combined, sometimes resembling portals or openings. This piece acts as a visual diagram that documents the practice of gratitude—a collection of small behaviors that work together to create positive change. "Rise Up" is a response to the summer energy—barbecues, warm temperatures, and a sense of excitement this season can bring.
