Ural Owl Print

This work is part of my series "Above Our Heads" which is dedicated to animals native to Austria / Central Europe whose habitat is located above our heads. For us humans, they occasionally flit into view and thus into our memories. We see a squirrel in the park or perhaps a bird of prey in the air during a hike. But in everyday life, we easily forget that life also takes place above our heads, which we as humans often influence unconsciously. With a wingspan of up to 125 cm, the Ural owl is the second largest of the native owls. However, there are actually no longer any confirmed breeding pairs in Austria. Sighted specimens are likely to migrate from neighboring countries, where reintroduction efforts are underway in some cases.
