About The Artwork
While the marriage of Prince Harry, a member of the British monarchy, and Megan Markle, an American and person of mixed ethnicity, happened in mid-2018, a media storm has been revolving around the couple, notifying to the world their every move. People from near and far are constantly getting updated with anything and everything about this beautiful couple leading an enticing fairytale life as it is portrayed on television. But one thing struck true to me despite this hullabulla and this age of fake news and alternative facts, that Meghan Markle is an indisputable beauty no portraitist should ignore capturing. And so I finally got inspired to start with her to do my series of British Royal Portraiture, that I have been planning to do for over a decade. Having thoroughly enjoyed making numerous paintings in Rembrandt’s style of biblical themes to churches, landscapes and animal studies I am constantly encouraged to stitch current affairs themes with a mythological theme and style. The painting is made digitally because of the quick turnaround compared to my making it with oil on canvas, and to cater to clients who need quick classic paintings from me at an affordable price to every collector and art lover.

Remy Francis is based in the city of Dubai, travelling to different parts of the world with her artistic endeavours. She started out in the Fine Artists Arena 20 years ago. Traditional painting, portraiture, sketching, animating has been her full-time occupation developed by her self-made and collaborative efforts to build a creative community in which she too could identify with. Bernini, Bellini, Rembrandt, Monet, Michael Angelo have been her inspirations and their styles well-researched by her have greatly helped her derive her own style organically. Most of her pieces have a story to tell, connected to her life like a journal.
