Painting: acrylics, pencil, polymer medium, ink and collage on Paper. Full Moon Frog Pond, 8 x 10" Mixed Media and Acrylics painting on 300 pound water colour paper. Pls note- each of these paintings have deckled edges - that is the edges are rough, created from thick torn paper. Vancouver sound artist Gregory Rosa and abstract painter Deb Chaney have partnered up to create a CD and painting series—FULL MOON FROG POND. Inspired by the music, Chaney selected a suite of green shades, blues, whites, and blacks for the work, and then drafted an aerial outline of the pond on three separate panels, using wet-on-wet India ink for the ground layer of the pond and its black edges. After painting the green marsh land surrounding the pond, Chaney layered the lake with liquid acrylic paint mixed with gloss medium polymer to give the lake its glossy sheen. Reverse transfer images of frogs, the CD cover, and sections of the graphical musical score were applied, and the entire work was set with museum quality archival varnish. The resultant work is a lush composite of natural beauty and simplicity. Each panel of the triptych was professionally photographed by Andrea Walker Collins before Chaney tore the panels into nine individual abstract pieces, 27 total.
